Today, we are delighted to feature Camila, our extraordinary Project Coordinator.

Defining the Role

Camila has been a part of Fickling Construction since May 2018. As a Project Coordinator, she works closely with Project Managers, aiding in the organization and implementation of various projects. Her work is instrumental to the successful running of our projects, and her keen eye for detail helps keep everything running smoothly.

What initially attracted Camila to Fickling Construction was the opportunity to utilize her knowledge and grow with the company. Being a small yet impactful entity in Jacksonville, the company presented her with an arena to explore and evolve her professional expertise.

Significant Accomplishments

During her time so far at Fickling, Camila has been involved in implementing technology and various programs that have effectively reduced processing times, minimized errors, and made important information accessible to everyone. This involved rolling out systems for things like vacation time requests, employee training, payroll, and even employee evaluations – all geared toward digital efficiency.

Through the implementation of Microsoft Access for different reports, she has streamlined essential processes such as tracking employment authorization expiration and wage averages. This evolution has provided us with a seamless and paperless work environment.

Work Environment

When asked about her experience at Fickling Construction, Camila shared,

The care we show for our employees, our customers, and our community speaks volumes about Fickling’s values…The company supports my professional growth 100%. In my five years here, they have given me the opportunity to be in three different areas – AP, HR, and now Project Coordinator.”

Who is Camila?

– Born in Colombia, Camila moved to the USA in 2015. Despite facing language barriers, she pursued English classes while working multiple jobs and studying full-time.

– A Business Administration graduate from the Pontifical Xavierian University, she started her professional journey with Kimberly Clark Colombia in a special training program called Krecer. This program allowed her to gain experience in Sales, Finance, and Trade Marketing.

– Outside work, Camila is a lover of plants, nature, and fitness. She enjoys spending time with her husband, nurturing their home, and helping others – an activity that brings her immense joy.

– Camila’s tenacity and ambition eventually brought her to Fickling Construction, where she has been able to put her knowledge and experience into practice. Today, she aspires to become a Project Manager at Fickling
